Whānau Adventures in STEM _ CANCELLED

When
Sunday 24th May 2020 1:00pm - 5:00pm NZDT
Where  Basestation, 148 Durham Street, Tauranga View Map

How can whānau, educators and parents work to develop “the next generation of thinkers” in science, technology, engineering and mathematics?

What's it all about?

Following on from the success of STEMFest 2019, STEM Wana Trust are delighted to bring STEM to Techweek for the first time!

Success in the world today requires strong science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills and the capacity to apply these skills in everyday life. Research shows there are three main ways that families strengthen STEM learning from early childhood through adolescence:

Families can develop a STEM-rich home environment.

Families can create a mindset that promotes strong STEM identities.

Families can strengthen STEM learning by participating in activities across a variety of settings.

These practices not only build a child's academic skills but also strengthen the bonds between children and adults while empowering families to be confident to explore STEM further.

We invite whānau to come to our FREE play, explore, and learn session where we get interactive with some fun STEM activities, meet some STEM heroes, but also explore together opportunities to Reach Out, Raise Up, Reinforce, Relate, and Reimagine STEM for our tamariki to create a new generation of problem solvers and creative thinkers!

Suitable from ages 5 to 105!
